The only thing negative to be said about Sunset House is that it is not a "luxury" resort. The rooms are tidy but don't expect 5 star quality here. The poolside area also features a bar, a lounge with a fire pit, as well as a rooftop terrace perfect for entertaining guests. Dive Information
Sunset House’s rehab center often uses the 12-step approach. Initially developed for Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), this approach encourages individuals to accept their powerlessness over addiction and work through a series of steps to help them recover. It relies on individual counseling, group therapy, and peer support to help you gain insight into your addiction and develop life-long tools for recovery. Sunset House’s treatment center offers a comprehensive treatment approach to help you achieve long-lasting recovery. Our residential IV program helps clients improve their self-concept, develop self-efficacy, and develop plans for sustained sobriety.
DIVING SERVICES
Our care focuses on helping those nearing life’s end in living each day with the highest quality of life possible and providing comfort to the entire family. If you are into underwater photography, Cathy Church Photo Center is on site. All staff not only are able photographers but also divemasters. The dive operation was very professional and very helpful. The gavedetailed briefings before every dive and the diving was reallybeautiful. Great visibility (100 feet or more) and tons of marinelife--especially turtles.
Sunset House Hotel & Dive Center
Shortly after we began we were buzzed several times by an Atlantis tourist submarine... After thoroughly shooting the wreck we moved over to some reef shots, then over to the 9' bronze mermaid sculpture of Amphitrite, the consort of Poseidon. From here we worked our way back through the reefs towards shore, photographing various corals.
It’s so good; it's included in all dive packages for free. When you return from the morning two tank dive - have a quick lunch - and jump right back into the Caribbean waters. Dawn dives, afternoon dives, night dives whatever you want the choice is yours. This review is actually concerning Cathy Church's photo center which is located at Sunset House. Unfortunately I wasn't able to stay at Sunset House as I was the only diver in a family party of six, so we instead rented a 7MB condo through VRBO. As I had recently purchased the $500 E-PM1 bundle which had grown to $2500 with accessories, I was anxious to improve my results as my photos to that point were disappointing to say the least. Previous to my trip I booked a private lesson with one of Cathy's staff instructors. I arrived early for my morning lesson, so the desk staff invited me to have breakfast in the dining room. Down in the photo center I was met by Theunis Neethling (Tee) who was my instructor for the day.

Otterbein Sunset House has been part of the Toledo area for more than 150 years. Founded in 1871 as the “Home for Friendless Women,” Otterbein Sunset House mainly served women in the Toledo area and later became a nursing center.
